Joining: Year of the Asian Reading Challenge (2019)

yarc-header.jpg

I’m officially proud to say that Inky Moments will be joining #YARC2019 (Year of the Asian Reading Challenge)! And you should join too! Many of us are always on the search for diverse books, so what better way than to read more with ASIAN representation?

It’s being hosted by these amazing bloggers, Lily from Sprinkles of Dreams, CW from The Quiet Pond, Shealea from Shut Up, Shealea, and Vicky from Vicky Who Reads! Make sure to go check out their posts for more info.

There’s lots of fun challenge levels, giveaways, recommendations, and monthly prompts. As I am finished with all my finals, (YES I finally have room to breathe, and time to spare), the challenge level I will be choosing is: *drumroll please*

badge_cobraChallenge Level:

Indian Cobra (11-20 books)

Of course, there are higher levels, including the Bengali Tiger, which is 50+ books. Fun Fact: That’s the national animal of my native country. Naturally, I wish I could take on this badge. If I do, is it possible I won’t finish? Yes, it’s very likely.

What I’ll Be Reading:

I probably won’t be reading these in order, but here’s to 2019, may it be a great year to catch up on books, and new releases. And what a coincidence; I even have a recent (it was written just yesterday) blog post on 10 Books I Need To Read in 2019.

I’m so thankful for this challenge! I can’t wait to hit all these amazing books. (P.S this continues the whole year)

What You Should Read:

If you’re participating in this challenge too, that’s great *sends virtual hugs, and food*. These books are unbelievably good, and I continue to daydream about these characters. You don’t want to miss these!

The rows are each their own series. Once I started reading, I could not put these down! To convince you even more, *hands virtual books* read this Rise of the Empress series by Julie C. Dao | Reasons Why I Love It.

Finished Books:

Now that my TBR list is out in the world, I have to stick to it right? Here’s a list that will keep track of my progress, and include mini-reviews.

  1. AHH YAY! I’m participating too, and I’m hoping to get a copy of Kingdome Of The Blazing Phoenix to read this year because I LOVED Forest Of A Thousand Lanterns. Also Descendant Of The Crane is amazing and I hope you love it as much as I did. Good luck with hitting your targets!

  2. This is an amazing challenge! I just finished Circle of Shadows not too long ago. You should check out Julie Kagawa’s The Immortal Rules! I think it is one of my favorites with Asian culture tied in. I also really want to read Toads and Diamonds by Heather Tomlinson.

  3. Yay! I’m super excited and happy to see that you’ll be joining us for YARC. I love your TBR – I’m really excited for SPIN THE DAWN and WE HUNT THE FLAME – and I think we’re both going to have a wonderful reading year ahead of us.
All the best for this year! 💛
